Legislature night texture

Friday, April 28th, 2006

Here’s night and dusk shots of the famous night lighting of the BC Legislature.  I’ve also added in a couple of Toronto and Douglas St. highrises.

Oooh, me like! Very good looking lighting, Jon. It can’t have been easy to paint all those in there. This is really shaping up to be a good looking title.

Thanks, Bill! The lights were actually not hard at all: create a layer with a string of lights and copy and paste. What WAS hard was agreeing on their colour with my creative wife. Google images for “BC Legislature night” and you will see the whole spectrum. And most pics are overexposed as well. http://www.well.com/~wolfy/Victoria/0905/page63.html

What would be VERY cool is to have the lights reflect in the water. That would be much more realistic.

Wow, that’s fantastic.. what software are you using?

Hi Andrea, the model is created with gmax, the textures are photorealistic, spatially corrected and processed with Photoshop Elements, ultimately displayed by Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. There are some other minor tools involved in the process as well.
