Development Update

Monday, October 9th, 2006

With all the FSX chatter going on, development is not forgotten. Vancouver+ V1.1 is still with the beta team, and hopefully we’re getting the last bugs licked. Besides minor fixes, Ken has been working on refining the installer/configurator while Holger and I tackle any lingering memory leaks. Tuesday I plan to lock down VictoriaPlus, after some finishing touches. When the Vancouver beta is done, we’ll release Victoria to beta.

On VictoriaPlus, I’ve been working with Don Grovestine, who is doing an excellent new version of his CYYJ, to ensure compatibility. Don is doing the facility in great detail, including the Pat Bay facilities.  His release should not be too long after VictoriaPlus.  Both VictoriaPlus and Don’s CYYJ will be no-charge downloads.

Coming soon, under the lead of Bill Womack, is work on CYVR for FSX. That’ll be an adventure learning the new tools and techniques. And of course, we will be providing an FSX version of Vancouver+ (which will be at additional cost for V+ FS9 owners), and at some point VictoriaPlus for FSX I’m sure will emerge. Meantime, here’s a couple of Vancouver+ screenshots.  Weather is ActiveSky V6.

    Hi Jon,

I must say that at the moment I’m more excited about this FS9 update in light of the early reports about FSX. Have you scouted out some marina space over at Friday Harbor? I understand it is the new Default for FSX.
    Have a great day!

Thanks for all the FS9 work you did for us, John, and the new creations for FSX. I bought FSX Deluxe October 6th and am pleased with it; even though, I cannot run it maxed out. Looking forward to your CYVR and YYJ addons.
    Cheers,
    Bill CYYJ

…and Bill you’re probably aware of the great CYYJ that Don Grovestine is working on for FS9.
