Putting the “Plus” in VictoriaPlus

Friday, August 31st, 2007

Holger and I have decided, with the support of Don Grovestine, to expand the scope of Victoria+ in FSX to include the San Juan Islands, including Blakely, Decatur, Lopez, Orcas, San Juan, Stuart, Waldron and many smaller islands.

We will be adding accurate mesh, landclass, shorelines and hydrology, roads, correcting airfields and making floatplane bases AI capable (Don is working on that).   This adds 16 airfields and 5 Floatplane bases, bringing the total number of facilities in Vic+ to 50.

This is unbelievably good news, and I can’t thank all of you enough for agreeing to undertake this expansion of what already is a great contribution. It’s an area I long to explore in the detail your efforts will provide. Thank you for this, very, very much. I may be one of many or one of few who have longed for such treatment of this area, but I have to tell you that I am very, very excited to read this announcement. I’ve bought what you sell, and I’ve gratefully received what you give, and I love them all. This addition really gives me something I’ve wanted a great deal. Thanks to the giver of your gifts, that permits you to give this to us. Your generosity continues to astound me.

This is really great news Jon. Please include Sucia in the San Juans. I wanna cry when I fly over the current version and see my favorite spot in Ewing Cove not drawn. Be happy to beta test as well if you need more.

@pbearsailor: Sucia, Patos and Matia are included as well as the bitsy adjacent islands: the Fingers, Ewing and Little Sucia and a swarm of islets. Email me as a reminder as well re: beta team.
