Taking a look at Victoria+ in Google Earth

Saturday, September 1st, 2007

Here’s a Google Earth placemark file that shows all facilities in Victoria+.  Here’s a screenshot of that.  Note all facility names show when zoomed out this far.

I’m looking very forward to this add-on, and noticing this, I wonder if you’ve heard that Google Earth has a ‘flight sim’ easter-egg?

    Thanks!

Yup, I played with that Google sim a bit. There is no comparison to MSFS: no weather, no AI, no sound, no light and smoke effects, no animations, no seasons, no night (it’ always noon!), very few objects, no ATC, only 2 aircraft, 24,000 airports are missing, etc., etc. But it will be interesting to see if Google wants to do something more serious with this in the years to come.
