Here’s the balance of Larry’s current work.  He’s also going to include a nifty pilotable Zodiac so you can zip around the terminals.  All shots in Prepar3d.

Hi John thanks for this update.

I was in contact with Larry over the past couple of years encouraging him to make his work available because it was excellent. He seemed reluctant. I was hoping that he would allow me to include some of his work with my BC Ferries which I wanted to animate. That work has sat dormant for a long time now. Looks like Larry is plugging along very well.

Is Larry going to make any of this available? He usually works, and works adding and adding but there is no start of finish sometimes. This stuff you attached looks complete. Why doesn’t he package it up as is and let us have access to it?

I have a set of his Tsawwassen Terminal work that is fantastic but he wouldn’t let me put it up for distribution, he kept saying that he wondered if people would like it…which seemed odd, because it was superior to anything else available which is what I told him.

Bryan, you are asking some good questions, questions that keep coming up. I’ve been working closely with Larry for some time now so here’s my view.

Larry develops for his own amusement, he has no interest in the overhead of collaboration, distribution, support or other obligations. He will not share his model source or libraries with other developers any more than ORBX would. Like it or not, that’s who he is and I respect that.

He and I have developed a mutual understanding, and on that basis he has made an exception to this rule, and allows me and only me at this time to redistribute or collaborate. I am willing to handle questions like yours, infrastructure logistics, marketing and other aspects he has no interest in.

Larry has learned a lot about modelling and is constantly improving. In his view, all his previous work, including the Tsawwassen terminal you currently have, are substandard. So he is upgrading them. He’s currently upgrading the Queen of Cumberland for example. That’s another reason you haven’t seen releases.

And change has already come: working with me on VictoriaPlus, there are now freeware versions available of the MV Norwegian Pearl (static, AI and pilotable), Norwegian Jewel (static) Harbour Ferry (static and AI), MV Coho (static and AI), MV Empire State (static), and Belleville St. Ferry Terminal. Although redistribution of these (including activating them in a product in a traffic file or access in any other way) is exclusively available to me, you are free to download these for your own use. So the tap is on.

That’s the skinny, open and honest. Thanks for your support.
